A Tour and Little Details of Life

This is the front door.
You walk into a little room that is the office/greeting room.  From there you go into a
large room that I don't have a picture of, but the staff eat in there.

This is our room.

Closets

The dining room for the children.

Then we go upstairs or upside as it is called hear.

This room was emptied for VBS, but it is usually filled with bunk beds.  The room has an
extension behind where the picture is being taken.  Also, this is how we mop the floors here.
It's somuch fun!  First, you fill buckets of water.  Then you throw it all over the floor.  Then you squeegee it dry.  It's so quick and easy!

This is the children's dressing room.

Mopping is a team effort.  Everybody joins in.

This is the Staff's room.

Not infrequently we have what they call current cuts, which is power cut.  They seem to happen most at dinner time when it is dark.  It can be very challenging.  Here we are eating by candle light.

The heat does not bother Faith and I at all except at night when the current is cut.  So we started to do what all the other girls do and sleep on the roof.  The call it the terrace here. :)  It is quite fun, but I paid for it the next day because I did not think of one thing:

Mosquitoes

I was very much eaten by them that night.  So the next night the girls made sure I remembered to put repellent on.  They are so thoughtful for our comfort.

One of our favorite times of the day is tea time.  We all sit together, talk, and enjoy our chai.  Chai is the best tea you will ever have. ;)  So good...But better still is the company.

Quiet evening chats are so much fun!

Delicious Chai

From 10:30 to noon is study hour.  It is Faith's and my job to conduct this time.

Look you can turn your outlets on and off.  I thought that was really neat beside the fact that they look so funny.

Faith and I were able to read letters from BOH children to their sponsors.  That was really neat, especially as I read SOOOO many letters from sponsors to children.  It was fun to be on the other side of letters.

So that's a tour of our home and a few little details of life here.

"Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.    Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.     Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.    Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.    For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations."  Psalm 100

God bless you!  We love y'all and miss y'all!
