Hiking at Memorial Park in Houston

We found a park nearby and went on a 2 hour hike.

A map of the park.  We were at the green dot.

A Day on Galveston Island

On Tuesday, we spent the day touring Galveston Island with Aunt Karen.  We had a really nice time!

This is where we ate lunch.

Pondering the menu...a salad for Aunt Karen, and crab cakes for Rachel, and I.

It was a delicious lunch!
And, of course, the day would not be complete without a stop at Starbucks!

On the spur of the moment, we decided to take a harbor tour to see the dolphins.

Enjoying the ride!

I know it's blurry, but this is the captain of our boat.

Watching the dolphins.

"Should you not fear me?” declares the Lord. “Should you not tremble in my presence?  I made the sand a boundary for the sea, an everlasting barrier it cannot cross.  The waves may roll, but they cannot prevail; they may roar, but they cannot cross it."  Jeremiah 5:22

The Blue Bell Factory

Aunt Karen took Rachel and I to the Blue Bell factory in Brenham.  We got to go on a tour and see them making the ice cream, and then at the end we got a free scoop of ice cream.  Unfortunately, we were not allowed to take pictures during the tour.

This is a map of all of Blue Bell's location.

We finished the day off by a stop at Cheddar's to get something to eat.

Three weeks in Houston

Rach and I are in Houston for three weeks to take care of our aunt's place while she went on a medical missions trip to Fiji, and then a vacation to New Zealand.  We've been enjoying exploring Houston.

Dad gave us roses the day we left!

Ruby is the one in the front and Max is in the back.
We've done a lot of Skypeing with those at home.
We went to Baskin Robins to celebrate Steven's birthday!  :-)
And of course, we've been drinking coffee every day!
Out shopping
Drinking coffee and reading a book off Google books

These verses stuck out to Rach and I as we were reading Psalm 33 one day so I thought I would post them.

"Our soul waiteth for the Lord: he is our help and our shield.  For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name."  Psalm 33:20-21
