A Big Project

In May, Rach and Lizzy had three weeks off of school and work. So we decided to tackle a big project. This big project was to turn these white cabinets into dark faux wood cabinets.

The first step was to sand all the cabinets with liquid sandpaper. Then we put on the coat of paint.

It's time for a coffee break.
"Some project just require this much coffee."
First coat, three more to go.
The second coat is finished.
YAY! Job completed!
The finished product. Our renovated kitchen cabinets.

Sorry the lighting is terrible.
Reorganizing

To celebrate a job well done, we treated ourselves to our favorite blizzards from Dairy Queen and played a game of Catan.

"And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ." Colossians 3:23, 24

That's all for now.

Emma, and Corrie, and I...

Over the last few months, I've been collecting pictures of the fun times Emma, Corrie, and I have together. They come over pretty much every Friday and our fun usually starts outside. :)

Swinging is a favorite.
Emma!!
Corrie!!
The tried and true method of pushing yourself when
you haven't leaned how to swing yourself yet.
Corrie and I
Looking for dandelions to blow.
She found one.
Sometimes it's a wagon ride.

So fun, but also a lot of work for Aunt Esther. :)
Then, after supper, Emma and I wash the dishes. She's an excellent helper and she LOVES it. :) After the dishes are washed, there is usually a good puddle on the floor. So we go get wash cloths to mop it up. She's very good at that, too.

Mopping up the water.
Good job, Sweetie!
Different day. Same job, only this time
Corrie came to help, too.
Hard at work.
Emma and I with our matching blue rags. All done.
The next few pictures are from other random fun times.

Sorry the picture is blurry.
Emma enjoying the train tracks.
Or, should I say, enjoying the trains. :)
Copying Corrie.
She's so expressive. Btw, kitchen ware
really do make the very best toys.
Sharing coffee
Yes, it runs in the family. :)
Cutie!
I love this picture of Emma. She has such
a sweet, pleased smile on her face.

This picture was actually quite a while ago. I took
Emma to the park. We had a really fun time.
Emma and Corrie cleaning up a mess.

That's all for now. Hope you enjoyed the pictures of:  Emma, and Corrie, and I. :)

A Visit To The Aunt Hill!

Bekah, Danny, and Del came down for a week in May and brought their dear friend Jessica and her girls, Nahla, Sophia, and Julianna. Minus the sickness we all came down with, we had a wonderful time and SO much fun! Some walks, games, plenty of good conversations, plenty of coffee, (In case you were wondering, Jessica is an awesome coffee drinker. :) ), thrift store shopping, volleyball, singing and much more, AND we gained three more nieces. :)

A Picnic At The Park...

After the kids played for a little bit, it was time to go on a walk...

One day, we took Jessica, Nahla, and Danny ice skating...

Uncle Ange helping Danny. At first,
he didn't think he liked it, but by the
end he was thoroughly enjoying
himself and getting pretty good at it.

Jessica and Nahla. Nahla was
getting pretty good by the end as well.
She was starting to venture out on her own.

Lizzy is REALLY good!

On the way home. Ice skating wore him out.
Well...that's all for now. We had such a nice, blessed visit. Thanks for coming, Guys. Come again another time. :)
