The Traveling Aunt Faifis 2

From the St. Louis Edition:

Faifis is the name the kids have concocted for Faith. It kinda stuck.
After a long hot day of swimming, the kids and I headed to the airport to pick up
our special person!

We stayed up super late every night.

We took Faith to our favorite park to go biking. Then we drove around looking
for deer. We were almost to the end of the scenic drive without having seen any.
As soon as I prayed, we spotted a mama deer with 2 fawns!

The last 3 times Faith has been up, we've tried to go see the Arch but for
various reasons it never worked out. This time it did. It was
a nice hot day for it.

Our shoes are almost exactly the same color. We picked a good color!

We made it to the top!

If you lean close enough to the windows, you can see the base of the Arch from the top.
It was a little freaky.

Sunday, we decided to spend the evening with just ourselves since we had had
so much company over the weekend. We ate at a BBQ place and then walked around
our favorite place. It was a lovely evening to be outside.
What cheesy grins.

We had to get a picture with this really cute white gate.

The kids dancing and singing.

One of my dearest friends!

I'm so glad you come up and visit, Faifis!
Until we meet again...

The Traveling Aunt Faifis 1

From the St. Louis Edition:

One day Steven walked in the front door after work and someone walked in behind him...

Surprise!!!

We always have so much fun with Faith!
The kids bask in lots of attention,
stories and M&M's.

Making cookies was exciting.

Park fun with friends.

Just hanging out...

Time for s'mores!

Jessica babysat the kids so that Steven, Faith and I could go out for a nice dinner.
Texas Road House was the place of choice and the steaks were so delicious...yummy!

Then we got ice cream and despite the funny faces, it was yummy too. haha

Faith and I were going to go biking, but every trail we went to was flooded.
So we walked and shopped at Old St Charles instead.

We finally got our bike ride in.

It was sad to say goodbye...but this time it wasn't so long before we got to see her again!

We love visits from the Aunt Hill!!!

A Field Trip to the Dairy Museum

The Southwest Dairy Museum in Sulpher Springs has always been a fun place to go visit!  On Wednesday, Mom and I (Rachel) went there with Esther Grace, Emma, Corrie, and James.  It was a blast!

The two big cows out in front of the museum.

The museum included several videos about dairy farming and the process of making cheese and ice cream.  There were also displays of an old fashioned kitchen and barn, butter churns, butter molds, and ice cream machines.

A milking machine simulator.  You can sick your finger in and see what a milking machine feels like.

Emma watching the cow get milked.

There were dairy-themed rubber stamps for the kids to play with.

Of course, the best part of the museum is the cute, little ice cream parlor.  The tour would not be complete without ice cream cones to finish off with!

Everyone enjoying their ice cream.  James wanted some too!

Emma and Corrie were so cute in their matching dresses.

We finished the day by eating lunch and playing at a park just down the road from the museum.

James is such a happy baby!

Emma's favorite book to read when she comes to Grammie's house is "The Little Red Caboose".  It was so fun for her to get to see a real caboose at the park!

Heading home.

We had a lovely day!  It was so fun to spend extra time with the little nieces and nephew!
