A Tour and Little Details of Life

This is the front door.
You walk into a little room that is the office/greeting room.  From there you go into a
large room that I don't have a picture of, but the staff eat in there.

This is our room.

Closets

The dining room for the children.

Then we go upstairs or upside as it is called hear.

This room was emptied for VBS, but it is usually filled with bunk beds.  The room has an
extension behind where the picture is being taken.  Also, this is how we mop the floors here.
It's somuch fun!  First, you fill buckets of water.  Then you throw it all over the floor.  Then you squeegee it dry.  It's so quick and easy!

This is the children's dressing room.

Mopping is a team effort.  Everybody joins in.

This is the Staff's room.

Not infrequently we have what they call current cuts, which is power cut.  They seem to happen most at dinner time when it is dark.  It can be very challenging.  Here we are eating by candle light.

The heat does not bother Faith and I at all except at night when the current is cut.  So we started to do what all the other girls do and sleep on the roof.  The call it the terrace here. :)  It is quite fun, but I paid for it the next day because I did not think of one thing:

Mosquitoes

I was very much eaten by them that night.  So the next night the girls made sure I remembered to put repellent on.  They are so thoughtful for our comfort.

One of our favorite times of the day is tea time.  We all sit together, talk, and enjoy our chai.  Chai is the best tea you will ever have. ;)  So good...But better still is the company.

Quiet evening chats are so much fun!

Delicious Chai

From 10:30 to noon is study hour.  It is Faith's and my job to conduct this time.

Look you can turn your outlets on and off.  I thought that was really neat beside the fact that they look so funny.

Faith and I were able to read letters from BOH children to their sponsors.  That was really neat, especially as I read SOOOO many letters from sponsors to children.  It was fun to be on the other side of letters.

So that's a tour of our home and a few little details of life here.

"Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.    Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.     Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.    Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.    For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations."  Psalm 100

God bless you!  We love y'all and miss y'all!

One Year Old

From the St Louis Edition

Danny is one year old!  I can't believe how fast time has flown by!  He has grown and changed so much!  He's a little quirk ball and a joy bug!

Happy 1st Birthday, Danny boy!

"The Lord bless you, and keep you. The Lord make his face shine upon you, and be gracious unto you. The Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace.  Numbers 6:24-26

Hello and Good-bye

Steven, Bekah, and Danny Boy came to visit us so that they could spend time with Es & Faith before they left. It was so good to see them! Each day (with the exception of Thursday) was full, and it seemed like we were continually in the car, but we still had a great time!

We started the week off by going to GFA prayer meeting early so that we could visit with some of our friends before it started.
Eating supper
Caylie playing with Danny

I love this little guy!
The Robinson girls were able to make it to prayer, and we had a blast with them!
Grammie and Danny Boy petting Piglet. Danny loves cats!
Wednesday afternoon we went to Samuel and Esther Grace's apartment.

Danny Boy, Bekah and Emma
Uncle Sam and Danny
Hanging out together
Danny was sad that 2 of his aunts were leaving so he commenced to unpack them.
Aww!
Swinging with Uncle Andrew
Grammie and Opa babysitting while the rest of us played volleyball.
Heading to the airport...sadness...
But first, we went to a park and had a picnic lunch.

Some of the Lodi family came as well. We were so glad that they could make it!
Going through security
Good-bye!
Steven and Bekah stayed until Monday morning. We were so glad to have a few more days with them!

Ange taking Danny on a four-wheeler ride
On the spur of the moment Bekah decided that we should put shelves in this hallway, so we spent most of Saturday doing that.
The finished product. Thank you Bekah!
Enjoying the evening.
Rach and Danny swinging
Danny giving Emma a horsey ride. Danny wasn't sure what to do and I don't think Emma enjoyed it very much!
Aunt Rach with her niece and nephew
Having fun!
I read this verse yesterday and it was so encouraging!

"The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands." Psalm 138:8 (ESV)

God is Faithful!
